Optimise Your Property Search: The Wish List Guide

Just starting your property search?  Where do you begin? There are 10s of thousands of properties available on the Costa del Sol (and, yes, we have access to all of them).

First things first - you’re going to get further and faster if you create your own personal wish list.  Good as our agents are, we haven’t quite mastered telepathy so the more you can get down in writing the better we’ll get to understand what really floats your boat.  Here’s the detailed list that we like to use.  Add to it, ignore bits that don’t matter and get out the highlighters for those non-negotiable must-haves.

Getting there: We’re talking accessibility.  How close to an airport do you need to be? 

Location:  Are you set on being beachside? Need views?  Want to have golf on hand? Town, village, countryside. Is a good vet or a hospital nearby on your required list?

Lifestyle: Do you want to be able to walk to the beach, restaurants and bars?  Are  you a party type that likes the nightlife or more of an early riser with a love of country walks?

Bedrooms and Bathrooms: What’s the ideal number of bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate your household comfortably?

Square Metres: Establish the minimum square metres required to meet your living space needs effectively.  Don’t forget that for a good part of the year you’ll be spending a lot of time outside.

Outdoor Space: Is a garden essential or would a terrace or balcony suffice? 

Nice-to-Have Amenities: Identify five additional features that would enhance your living experience but are not essential. These could include panoramic views, a rooftop terrace, or proximity to a gym.

Financial Readiness: Ensure your finances are in order, whether you're a cash buyer or have a pre-approved mortgage. Having your finances sorted increases the likelihood of having your offer accepted in a competitive market.
